Secrets of the Opposite Sex — Exposed

How to play

Secrets of the Opposite Sex is a question game. No board, no scoring, no winning. You draw a card, somebody answers honestly, and the conversation goes somewhere it wasn't going to go on its own.

The rules

01

Set the room

Get everyone in earshot and agree that answers stay in the room.

02

Pick a deck together

Choose the deck out loud — Table Talk is PG-13, After Dark is not.

Date night

One deck, two people. New Couples or The Vow Zone.

Party rotation

Pass the phone around. Battle of the Sexes or Anything Goes.

Long distance

A Play Together room on top of a video call.

Road trip

One reader, everyone answers. Table Talk keeps it all-ages.

03

Draw and read out loud

Tap the card, read the question aloud, and answer it first.

04

Go around the room

The same question travels clockwise until everyone has answered.

05

Skip freely, save the keepers

Skip anything, and tap the heart to save a question to Favorites.

The only rule

Consent. Any player can pass on any question, at any time, with no explanation. Nobody gets pushed, nobody gets guilt-tripped, and "I don't want to answer that" is a complete sentence. If the room stops being fun, switch decks or stop playing — the game serves the room, not the other way around.

What the buttons do

  • Tap the card / Next — draws the next question in the deck.
  • Back — returns to the previous card if you want to finish an answer you cut short.
  • Skip — passes on a card without answering it. Use it as often as you need.
  • Heart — saves the question to Favorites, stored on your device.
  • A / A / A — switches the card text between compact, default, and large so the question is readable from across the room.
  • Share — sends a single card, or an invite link to your deck, by text, email, or DM.
  • Switch decks — changes the deck mid-game without losing your place.

Choosing a deck

There are 12 decks, each written for a specific room. The first cards of every deck are free; unlocking the game opens all of them permanently. Playing with family or a mixed-age table? Start with Table Talk. Save After Dark for people who chose it on purpose.

Play Together (remote rooms)

Play Together puts everyone on the same card at the same time, from anywhere. Pair it with a phone call, FaceTime, or a group video chat — the app handles the deck, you handle the talking.

  1. 1. Host a room. Open Play Together, pick your deck, and choose friends only (join by code) or public (open to other players). You'll get a six-character room code and a share link.
  2. 2. Everyone joins. Send the link or read out the code. Players enter a name and land in the room. Friends-only rooms need no account at all.
  3. 3. The host drives the deck. Only the host advances cards, so the whole room stays on the same question in the same order.
  4. 4. Answer in turn, react live. Take turns out loud, and use the room chat and reactions to respond to answers without talking over anyone.
  5. 5. Restart or switch. The host can reshuffle the deck or start a new room whenever the energy changes.

Playing with strangers

Hosting or joining a public Play Together room needs a free account (Google or Apple sign-in) plus your Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube handle, so other players can see who they're playing with. Friends-only rooms with a shared code don't need an account at all.
